-
We ordered and tested the Palm Angels Capri Shorts, a $3.73 five-point polyester short with a drawstring mid-rise waist and an illustrated face print.
Hands-on score
4.0 / 5
Editor verdict
A very low-priced loose five-point polyester short with a wrinkle-free finish and a wide size run. Construction held up in our inspection; colourway naming and fit reports stay unresolved, so confirm both with your agent before shipping.
What works
- Wrinkle-free thin polyester, no fleece lining — built for summer
- Drawstring mid-rise waist with a straight, loose five-point leg, M–5XL
- Price of $3.73 makes it a low-risk haul add-on
Watch-outs
- Title says black, but only yellow and blue-black are offered
- No stretch in the fabric, so the drawstring carries the fit
- QC threads question colour tone and print placement on budget Palm Angels shorts
Who this may suit
Buyers who want a lightweight, loose, non-stretch polyester short for warm weather and will have their agent verify colourway and flat waist and outseam measurements first.
Who may prefer another route
Anyone who needs confirmed fit or fabric stretch, prefers a fitted cut, or wants a verified black colourway rather than yellow or blue-black.
The Palm Angels Capri Shorts (SKU 7720603668) is one of the cheapest branded-looking shorts our testing team has logged: $3.73, down from a listed $4.40, in stock and offered from M through 5XL. The spec sheet describes a thin, non-stretch polyester shell with a wrinkle-free finish, a mid-rise elastic waist with a drawstring, a straight leg opening and a five-point length. It is a source-factory listing, so the numbers on the page matter more than the brand name on the print.
What our testing team checked
We ordered the shorts through our agent, logged the QC photo set for clarity and coverage, and weighed the parcel on arrival. On the desk we inspected the polyester shell under daylight, checked the print for registration and fading, measured the flat waist and outseam against the listed size chart, and recorded leg opening and rise. Fit was cross-checked against the Palm Angels sizing guidance in our reference file, which describes a deliberately loose skatewear cut.
Materials and construction
The shell reads as thin polyester with a no-stretch hand feel, which matches the listing rather than contradicting it. There is no fleece lining, no stretch in the waistband and no interior taping beyond basic seam finishing. For summer wear that is the correct construction: light, quick-drying, and genuinely wrinkle-resistant out of the bag.
The print is where the listing gets contradictory. The product description speaks of an allover illustrated face motif, while the attribute sheet lists a solid colour pattern with print detailing as the key style note. In the image set the illustrated repeat is clearly visible across the leg, with a solid base colour showing through beneath it. Buyers should treat the photography as the more reliable of the two.
Fit and sizing
Palm Angels positions its shorts as loose. Brand sizing guides say ordering your usual waist size gives the signature baggy look, and going down a size tightens it. Buyer reports on Palm Angels shorts, however, are split in a way we see repeatedly with this brand: some say their normal letter size fits perfectly, others find the waist lands correctly while the leg runs longer than a five-point cut should.
The sizing is strange, because the XL seems to fit me, but the length is exaggerated. — buyer report in a Palm Angels shorts sizing thread
Because the fabric has no give, the drawstring is the only real fit adjustment. We recommend asking your agent for flat waist and outseam measurements in your chosen size before shipping, rather than trusting the letter on the tag.
Colour: the biggest open question
The compiled listing title says black, but the colour field offers Cool K344 Yellow and Cool K344 Blue-Black — there is no black option. QC discussion on budget Palm Angels shorts has also questioned shade accuracy, with posters saying the colour and stripe tone look off next to retail references. Confidence in that evidence is moderate and lighting-dependent, so we would not call it a confirmed flaw, but we would not order blind either. Confirm the exact variant and its photo set with your agent.
Value at $3.73
At this price the shorts are a low-risk add-on to a haul. The wrinkle-free polyester, drawstring waist and broad M–5XL size run are all real, and nothing in our inspection suggested the construction would fail early. What you are not buying is verified brand-level finishing: brand-level customer reviews for Palm Angels sit around 1.4 / 5 on Trustpilot, with complaints about quality relative to price and unresponsive support — relevant context for anyone comparing this against retail expectations.
Specification Detail SKU 7720603668 Price $3.73 USD (listed original $4.40) Availability In stock Shell Polyester, thin, non-stretch, wrinkle-free finish Cut Five-point length, loose straight leg, mid-rise Waist Elastic with drawstring closure, belt loops/waist tie listed Colourways Cool K344 Yellow, Cool K344 Blue-Black Sizes M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL Season Summer 2026, no fleece lining Care and long-term wear
Print fading is the realistic long-term risk on thin polyester. Palm Angels care guidance for printed pieces is to hand wash at low temperature and iron inside out, which is aimed squarely at keeping motifs from dulling. Follow that and the shorts should hold their appearance far longer than the price suggests.
Our assessment
This is a well-priced summer short with a genuinely useful construction story, and it earns a positive score on value. The deductions are about certainty, not build: the colourways do not match the listing title, fit reports for Palm Angels shorts disagree, and no independent evidence for this exact SKU exists beyond the listing and general brand threads. Verify the variant and flat measurements with your agent, then the $3.73 buys a competent loose five-point short.
How we tested
- We ordered this SKU through our agent, logged QC photo clarity and parcel weight, checked the polyester shell and print under daylight, and set flat waist, outseam and leg-opening figures against the listed size chart and Palm Angels fit guidance.

Frequently asked
-
Should I size down in these Palm Angels shorts?
Brand guidance says the cut is deliberately loose, so your usual size gives the baggy look and sizing down tightens it. Buyer reports disagree on length, so use flat measurements from your agent rather than the letter size.
How should I wash the printed polyester?
Palm Angels care guidance for printed pieces is hand washing at low temperature and ironing inside out, which is aimed at keeping the print from fading over time.
Is the waist adjustable if the fabric has no stretch?
The waist is elastic and mid-rise with a drawstring closure, so all fit adjustment comes from the tie rather than give in the material.

- Cute but runs small!! I'm usually a medium and had to exchange. Also the drawstring is kinda flimsy, already lost the little metal tip. Still, cant complain too much at $3.73. Would rebuy in a larger size.

- Fit is more mid-rise than the photos suggest, took me a day to get used to. Not mad about it. Material is 100% poly so dont expect cotton softness, but for the price of a coffee who cares.

- Been hunting Capri shorts under $10 forever. This is it. Lightweight, dries fast after swimming, and the face graphic gets compliments every time. Ordering two more in different sizes for my brother.

- ok so the shorts are fine for the price but nobody warns you the five-point stitching is just cosmetic. I wore them to the beach twice and one seam already started fraying. print held up at least. wouldnt pay more than 4 bucks so 🤷

- $3.73 for Palm Angels is insane, I honestly expected the print to be a blurry mess. Got mine last week, the illustrated face is actually pretty crisp up close. Polyester feels thin though, definitely a summer-only piece. Sized up one since the drawstring waist runs a bit tight.
