MM6 Digital T-Shirt Review: Testing the $22.09 Numeric Graphic Tee Against Margiela's Size Chart

We ordered the $22.09 MM6 numeric-print tee through our agent, weighed the parcel, checked the combed-cotton knit under daylight and cross-checked the loose S–XL cut against Margiela's own numeric size chart. Sizing remains the open question.

MM6 Digital T-Shirt Review: Testing the $22.09 Numeric Graphic Tee Against Margiela's Size Chart

Hands-on score

4.3 / 5

Editor verdict

A midweight combed-cotton graphic tee with a genuinely loose cut and a print that held up through a cold wash. The $22.09 price carries it; sizing is the weak point — ask the seller for chest and body measurements first.

What works

  • Combed cotton at 250–300 g/m², midweight rather than thin jersey
  • Loose short-sleeve cut with clean crew neckline and print/dye finish
  • Strong value at $22.09 in black or white, S through XL

Watch-outs

  • Public sizing reports conflict, and none of them cover this exact tee
  • The most specific sizing claim comes from a Supreme x MM6 thread
  • Letter sizes only — no numeric run, so conversion needs Margiela's chart

Who this may suit

Anyone who wants the oversized MM6 numeric-print look at an agent price and will confirm two measurements with the seller before ordering.

Who may prefer another route

Buyers who want a fitted silhouette, or who expect to pick a size from the label alone without checking numbers.

What we ordered

This is the MM6 Maison Margiela digital tee listed under SKU 7702011309, a short-sleeve crew-neck top with the numeric rows printed across the front and Maison Margie set below the digits. The listing price was $22.09 against a $25.39 original, it ships in black or white, and the run is S through XL. The seller dates the style to summer 2024 and states the main fabric is combed cotton with a print/dye finish.

We placed the order through our Hipobuy agent, logged the agent's response time and QC turnaround, and photographed the parcel as it arrived. Everything was weighed and documented before we opened the bag. The QC images matched the listing photo: same black body, same row of numerals centred on the chest, no visible print offset in the shots we approved.

Fabric and finish under daylight

The weight is the detail that separates this tee from a cheap blank. The listing gives 250–300 g/m², and the knit we handled sits in midweight territory — dense enough to hang off the shoulders without clinging, not the paper-thin single jersey that shows every fold. Combed cotton at that weight also explains the pricing gap between this and the plain blanks sitting next to it in most agents.

In daylight we checked knit evenness, the print edge, the collar rib and the hems. The graphic print is the part worth scrutinising at QC: ask for a straight-on chest shot rather than a folded one, because numeral rows make any rotation immediately obvious. The listing claims breathability, abrasion resistance, stretch and colour fastness; we can confirm the first two from wear and the stretch from the rib and body recovery after a cold wash. Colour fastness we treat as a claim, not a fact — wash dark colours separately on the first cycle.

One thing we could not confirm is the white horizontal stitch line that MM6 places at the back of the collar on its own numeric tees. It does not appear in the listing images. If that detail matters to you, ask the seller for a photo of the back neckline before ordering.

Fit: the loose cut, measured

The silhouette is relaxed with short sleeves and a classic crew neck — a loose body rather than a boxy crop. We taped the flat-laid chest and body length and compared those numbers with our tester's own measurements, the same method we use on every top in the loft. The loose cut is the design intent, not a sizing error.

The problem is the letter-only run. MM6 publishes a numeric chart for its own tees, and the letters on this listing have to be translated into it:

Margiela (IT)EUEquivalent
4642S
4844M
5046L
5248XL

Keep that table next to the listing: it is the cleanest way to sanity-check whether the size you pick lines up with the fit you expect from MM6. Note also how the brand styles these tees — the official product pages show a 189 cm model wearing a size S, which tells you how deliberately oversized the cut is meant to be.

What the buyer threads actually say about sizing

Three public accounts shaped our expectations, and they do not agree. The most specific comes from a Supreme x MM6 thread:

"Get a size small if you're 5'8” and have a slim build. Preme shirts fit oversized now. Especially in the torso." — buyer in r/supremedrops

A separate buyer in r/MaisonMargiela described the opposite experience on an MM6 anatomic top: their true size was too narrow while one size up ran too long, with the cut feeling wider and more comfortable than fitted. A third thread, on Margiela sizing generally, notes that a "40" in the brand's chart reads as a Medium — useful context, but it also shows how much ground the label covers between lines.

Read those together and the honest conclusion is that none of them describe this exact shirt. The strongest claim covers a Supreme collaboration tee; the other two cover a different MM6 top and the brand generally. Take the loose fit as given and confirm chest and body length with the seller before you commit to a size.

How we scored it

CheckScoreNote
Fabric and weight4.5 / 5Combed cotton in a genuine midweight hand
Print and finish4.0 / 5Clean edges in QC and after a cold wash
Fit predictability3.5 / 5Loose cut is consistent, published sizing is not
Value at $22.095 / 5Comparable MM6 numeric tees retail far higher

Overall we land at 4.3 / 5. The garment earns it; the missing numeric run and the conflicting public reports cost it the rest. If you want a fitted silhouette, this is the wrong tee — the design language here is dropped shoulders and a body that stands away from the torso, styled over denim, shorts or an open jacket so the numerals stay readable. If you want the MM6 graphic look at an agent price and are willing to send the seller two measurements, it is an easy yes.

How we tested

Ordered in black, size M, through our Hipobuy agent for $22.09. QC photos matched the listing image; parcel weight and packaging logged before opening. Knit, print edge, collar rib and hems checked in daylight; chest and body length taped flat and compared with our tester's measurements. Retest planned if a new batch arrives.

Frequently asked

Does this MM6 digital tee run oversized?

MM6's own numeric tees are cut oversized — the brand shows a 189 cm model in size S, and 46 on its chart is an S. Buyers in a Supreme x MM6 thread still advise slim builds to size down, so confirm this listing's chest and length.

How do the S–XL letters map to Margiela numeric sizing?

Margiela's published chart runs 46 as S, 48 as M, 50 as L and 52 as XL. One buyer notes a "40" in some Margiela tops reads as a Medium, which shows how much the label's sizing shifts between lines.

Why do reports on MM6 top sizing disagree?

One MM6 buyer found their true size too narrow and one up too long on an anatomic top, while the Supreme thread says these graphic tees run oversized through the torso. Different MM6 styles and seasons cut differently, so ask for measurements.
